Providing products and solutions which are proven to be safe and secure for use has been the driving force behind Joachim's managerial roles at Siemens, Continental, TRW, and ZF. He knows the ins and outs of software and system development for embedded and cloud-connected products, and how to ensure that organizations govern the risks in a compliant, yet value-focused way. 

Through his advisory, he helps companies benefit from AI in their development, quality, and governance processes, specifically when reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance are critical factors.

**"Use the power of AI where it really matters, but implement guardrails that ensure auditability and that the human is on the loop"** is a core principle he follows when driving agentic AI-powered solutions to bring engineering and governance to the next level. He strongly believes that processes must be purposefully shaped to enable responsible and informed human decision-making.

Joachim holds a Master's (Dipl.-Ing.) degree in electrical engineering and specialized in his PhD on control theory, robotics, and inertial navigation. Before turning to consulting, he served as Director for Product Governance - Safety/Cybersecurity/AI for ZF's global R&D.

Joachim is Founder and Chair of &ai, a non-profit foundation for ethical and responsible use of AI in music and the arts. He is also Advisory Board Member of the Munich Music Labs.
